Food tours in Rome

Rome is best discovered one bite at a time. Choose how you want to taste it:

  • Rome Food Walking Tour – 2.5 hours on foot through Trastevere, Campo de’ Fiori and the Jewish Ghetto, ending with a wine and pasta tasting; daily at 10:00 and 17:00, from €150 per person.
  • Food tasting by golf cart – a private 3-hour tour of Rome’s highlights with three food stops (Roman-style pizza, mozzarella and gelato), from €180 per person for groups of 3 or more.
  • Dolce Vita food tasting – the same three tastings on a private 3-hour ride in a vintage electric Fiat 500, from €270 per person for groups of 5 or more.
  • Aperitivo tours – a private golf cart tour (from €170 per person, groups of 3 or more) or a Dolce Vita tour in a vintage Fiat 500 (from €260 per person, groups of 5 or more) with an aperitivo stop: a cocktail or a glass of wine with mozzarella, cured meats and focaccia.

Food tour FAQs

The golf cart and Fiat 500 food tastings include three stops: a slice of Roman-style pizza at a traditional bakery, a mozzarella tasting and a classic gelato, with wine, soft drinks or water. The walking tour ends with a wine and pasta tasting. The aperitivo is a tasting, not a full dinner.

Yes, vegetarian and vegan alternatives are available. Please tell us when you book. For gluten-free or other dietary needs, contact us before booking.

Yes. The food walking tour and the golf cart tours are suitable for families. On the Dolce Vita tours in a vintage Fiat 500, children must be at least 3 years old and accompanied by a parent, because baby seats can’t be installed in the vintage cars.

The food walking tour starts every day at 10:00 and 17:00 from Piazza Trilussa in Trastevere. The golf cart and Fiat 500 food tastings start at 14:30 or 18:00, and the aperitivo tours at 18:00 or 18:30, with pickup from your hotel in the historic center.

The food walking tour is shared with other travelers, and a private version is available on request. The golf cart and Fiat 500 food tastings and the aperitivo tours are private: only your group.

Choose a cooking class if you want to cook yourself: in about 3 hours you make fresh pasta or pizza with a chef, then sit down to eat what you made, with wine (shared classes from €79). Choose a food tour to taste many specialties while you explore: the Rome Food Walking Tour lasts 2.5 hours through Trastevere, Campo de' Fiori and the Jewish Ghetto (from €150), or you can ride a golf cart or vintage Fiat 500 between tasting stops. The Market & Cooking Class (4.5 hours, from €190) combines both: you shop at a local market, then cook and eat a five-course meal.
